“Crisis on Earth X” Part 4 – DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Review

Here we are, at the fourth and final part of the “Crisis on Earth X” crossover event!

The final part of the crossover concluded on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and it was a fitting ending to this well crafted story seeing our heroes take on their Nazi counterparts of Earth X. I’m just going to get straight into the final part and review the conclusion to what has been my favourite crossover the shows have done to date.

I think that the crossover this year has brought everything from the brilliant action sequences, great character interaction and plenty of emotional weight through the four episodes. I think what I’ve liked a lot about the event this year is the fact that I had no clue what was going to happen and everything that has occurred so far caught me by a complete surprise, so as a viewer it’s something new and fresh to witness. I do think that we’ve got to experience some of the finest moments in the Arrowverse over these four episodes and was just brilliant to experience as a fan. I thought that after the last episode on The Flash, we got to see just how different Earth X is and how the characters on that earth differ from the ones we know from Earth 1 and Earth 38 (Supergirl). One thing for sure is that its given us some damn good character development.

“Crisis on Earth X” Part 3 – The Flash Review

Here we go, Part 3 of the “Crisis on Earth X” crossover event!

The third part of the crossover sees our heroes slap bang in the middle of Earth X, surrounded by Nazi soldiers. I think that this was probably the strongest episode in the crossover and the conflict between Earth’s heroes and the Earth X’ers got a lot darker and had some solid moments for me throughout the episode.

Part 3 picks up literally where the Arrow episode ended off, with our heroes being help prisoner in what seems like one of a number of concentration camps. The episode wastes no time in showing us just how dark and different Earth X is compared to where our heroes are from. From the get go we get a real feel for how evil this 53rd earth is and that the masters of this world are shown in their true colours. What was cool with this episode is that we got to see some new characters introduced which changed the dynamic as well.

Black Lightning “Resurrection” Trailer

As we know, we will be getting a new DC superhero TV series next year in the form of Black Lightning!

I did a post about the show a few months back showing the announcement trailer which gave us a good look into the style and approach the creators have gone for, bringing this awesome character onto our TV screens. The character of Black Lightning is well known amongst DC fans and I think that the show looks awesome.

“Crisis on Earth X” Part 2 – Arrow Review

One episode down, 3 more to go!

The second episode of “Crisis on Earth X” with Arrow brings us to the halfway point of the crossover event, and I personally think it’s safe to say this may top last year’s “Invasion!” With the first episode it was established that our heroes are dealing with Nazi’s from a 53rd earth they were unaware of and this is not a fight that is going to be easy. This is going to be a fight not just to defend their homes, but also to protect the entire world and multi-verse from falling under the control of the Nazi’s and the Fuhrer!

Spiderman – Into the Spider Verse Official Teaser Trailer

My Spider Sense is tingling!

I have been very much looking forward to seeing what the upcoming animated Spiderman movie from Sony Pictures was going to look like and we’ve been given out first teaser trailer, which looks freaking awesome as shit!

For anyone that hasn’t heard of this project before, it’s an upcoming animated feature produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. The movie itself is going to be our first look in the shoes of Miles Morales who is one of the newest Spidermen in the Marvel Universe, who is a teenager from Brooklyn. The premise behind the film is to show Miles balancing his life as a high school student as well as being a superhero, similar to what Peter Parker did when he first became the web slinger. Miles Morales is from the Ultimate universe of Marvel and first appeared back in 2011 in the comics I believe.

Story of the Year “Wolves” Review

Holy shit! Story of the Year are back with an absolute banger of a comeback album!

I have been a fan of Story of the Year since 2006, getting hooked on their awesome sound and lyrics when I first heard In The Wake of Determination. December 2017 is the year in which Story will be releasing their fifth studio album titled “Wolves”, which will be their first release since 2010’s The Constant! Almost 7 years since their last album, dang that’s a long time!

The band is formed of vocalist Dan Marsala, lead guitarist Ryan Phillips, bassist. rhythm guitarist Philip Sneed and drummer Josh Wills. So for their new album the band became independent for Wolves and went about this by putting together a Pledge Music campaign to help fund the project. The album was produced by Aaron Spinkle, who has worked with bands such as New Found Glory and MXPX to name a few. This album will be the band’s first release since the departure of bassists Adam Russell, who left back in 2014.

“Crisis on Earth X” Part 1 – Supergirl Review

It’s finally arrived! The two night epic crossover event “Crisis on Earth X” aired this week and it was so worth the wait!

I’m going to be reviewing each episode within the crossover for all four shows, starting with the Supergirl episode which was Part 1. So I’m just going to jump straight into it!

This year the crossover takes place over two nights with the first night airing Supergirl and then Arrow making up the first half, with the second half the next night with The Flash and concluding on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. This is the big crossover event of the year for the Arrowverse with “Crisis on Earth X” being a total of four hours altogether and really involves all four show’s this year. Last year we saw our heroes take on the Dominators in “Invasion” and this year they are going up against Nazi’s?!

Justice League Review

DC’s answer to The Avengers has finally arrived!!

As we’re all aware, the DCEU movie universe has been subject to a lot of hate and negative criticism over the past year. I can’t say I disagree with the reception it has received as there are some things that Warner Bros. has got wrong when trying to build the DC film universe, but I think with the massive success of Wonder Woman I was going into Justice League with an open mind. I REALLY REALLY wanted this movie to be good as I am such a huge DC fan and I did not want it to be a let down and prove all the “critics” right.

So without further ado I’m just going to jump straight into this review of Justice League, as I have a lot to talk about in regards to the movie. If you’re a comic book fan then you should know that the Justice League is formed of earth’s strongest heroes from all different branches of the DC Universe. The League in the comic books consists of Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and Green Lantern. Obviously due to not having a plan for Green Lantern, he was absence in the movie and with Superman being dead, after the events of Dawn of Justice, the film focuses around the remaining five heroes.
