“Crisis on Earth X” Crossover Event Trailer

It’s crossover time baby!!!

We’ve got to that time of year when all four of the Arrowverse shows gear up for their epic crossover event! That’s right we will be seeing the characters from Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl all crossing over into eachother’s shows for what is going to be the TV event of the year! Last year, we saw the show’s crossover for the “Invasion” event with aliens, this year it is “Crisis on Earth X”.

So what is Earth X?

Well as we know in the DC Universe comic book world we have the concept of the multi-verse, in which there are infinite versions of Earth 1 and things on the other earth’s can be completely different from the one we see on all three shows with Supergirl being set on Earth 38. The premise going into the crossover event this year is that Earth-X is the 53rd world and what makes this one different from the others is that it’s a reality where Hitler and the Nazi’s won World War II. Imagine that for a second! This earth has doppelganger versions of Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl but they are evil versions of the one’s we know and love.

On Earth X they are known as Dark Arrow, Dark Flash  and Overgirl, played by Stephen Amell, Tom Cavanagh and Melissa Benoist. I think the suits for each character look badass as well!

Here’s an image of them below:

We have been given a few teaser trailers for the upcoming crossover but recently a full trailer had been released giving us a glimpse of what to expect. I love these crossovers as you get to see character’s from the show interact with ones that they normally wouldn’t get a chance to, which I think is such a cool part about the crossover. In the trailer we see that all the characters gather together for the wedding of Barry and Iris, but in true superhero fashion it doesn’t go to plan as it gets gate crashed by the Earth-X doppelgangers and all hell breaks loose! One thing I really am looking forward to is seeing evil Oliver Queen and Kara Danvers, as it’s going to be interesting to see both Stephen Amell and Melissa Benoist not only have screentime together but portraying a different side to their respective characters.

Just based on the content within the trailer it just feels epic and massive this year and I thought they pulled it out of the bag last seasons! It looks action packed this time around and having the evil doppelgangers is going to add a great amount of depth to all the shows. I’m looking forward to seeing all the different interactions between the characters for this crossover, as there are characters that weren’t in the crossover last year or who didn’t have that big of a part. It’s going to be awesome to see new characters like Wild Dog, Black Canary, Mr Terrific and Zari from Legends coming into the fold as they will be a new aspect to the crossover this year. We will see a new character brought into the story with The Ray and also the return of Wentworth Miller playing Citizen Cold, who is a version of Captain Cold from another Earth.

The official synopsis of the crossover is as follows:

THE EPIC FOUR-WAY CROSSOVER WITH “ARROW,” “SUPERGIRL,” “THE FLASH” AND “DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW” BEGINS — Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (guest star Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes — Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz) — lead their teams into battle to save the world.

My personal thoughts on the trailer is that it feels like a four part movie, the way the action sequences have been filmed and choreographed just look amazing. I think all the teams behind the scenes involved have really stepped up their game this year, plus with James Bamford’s choreography you know it’s going to be epic. I like the overall tone and feeling going into the crossover and just having all these character’s together is going to make for some damn good television. As you guys know I’m as massive fan of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow so having all four shows crossover into two nights….well I won’t be missing it for anything I tell you that now!

Ever since the Crisis on Earth X crossover was announced earlier this year it just blew my mind, as I was thinking how were they going to top alien’s? Then BANG! They come out with this! I think the story over the two nights is going to be well crafted and have a lot of twists and turns. I’ve been watching interviews with each of the cast about the crossover event and one thing I took away from Stephen Amell’s interview is that you won’t be able to tell the difference on which episode is for which show, as he turned around and said it just feels like a four hour movie.

Crisis on Earth X airs on 27th November starting with Supergirl and then part 2 Arrow. Then part 3 will kick off  on 28th November with The Flash and concluding on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

All I’ll say guys is if you’re into superheroes and you love these shows, then you will not want to miss the crossover event this year!

I have included the trailer below for Crisis on Earth X, check it out and let me know what you think!
